Starting the 2012 season with new land, and pastured eggs coming soon!

Well, it's been an easy winter, with plenty of beautiful sunny days. Our overwintered produce experiment went pretty well, carrots lasted right where they grew all winter long. Also, we had a lettuce which must have seeded itself, and it grew into a full plant once we lifted up the row covering!

Our small garlic plot seems to be doing great, so come fall we will have garlic for the first time. Can't wait until next year to plant a much larger amount!

Hopefully by then we will be up and running at our new plots on our second property. Our home farm has outgrown itself :) in just two years...

Keep checking back, soon we will have some presales of shares for our 2013 CSA season. We are planning to offer them on Kickstarter, along with some other great rewards, to raise the funds for expaning onto our new land.

And, we will be adding a day-range area for our own small flock of pastured chickens! I am so excited for this, it has been so long since I raised chickens! The eggs will be available as an add-on for the 2013 season, and we will be offering a few for the Kickstarter campaign. So, if you're in the NEPA area, and are looking for pastured eggs, we hope be able to accommodate you next season!

Until next time,
go Hug A Farmer!
